I've been thinking about this a lot recently, not that I'm sympathetic towards any of 'em, but I do wonder what Albo, Wong et al. see when they look in the mirror?

Like at some base level, they must recognise the monsters they've revealed themselves to be, they must know that's never going away. There will probably never be a trial, and, as you say, Australian media and commentariat are already digging the pit to hide the mountain of bodies, but these politicians have to have at least some brains, and they can't hide from themselves.

I just don't know how anyone could continue to live having being so knee-deep-in-gore complicit in all this.

I think Australian politicians learn to live as split selves very early on, until the shadow self is just the full self and that’s it/easy for them.

Albo is not the man for the moment. His text book status quo timidity and lack of moral courage - backbone - restrains a credible response Australians can be proud of. His lack of courage will cost Labour at the next election too, so there’s that. He is bloody disappointing and why? What has he got to lose? I wish he would stand up for something other than political ‘spin’. Have memories of the failed ‘yes’ vote neutered him? He’ll need to grow a pair to deal with Trump’s new autocracy. Oh, and I’m a Labour supporter.

I suppose it was Albo that made you loose that money all those years ago. You know the one as we have all done it.

As it goes in the TISM song "Bought a car just the other day. Man can that baby run. But you know what they always say, there's always a better one.

I wanted to like your article but it is just a whinge fest. As if Australia is in any position to change anything. Albo is not the problem as the LIbs would have been far worse when it comes to Gaza.

Instead of thinking Australia is of any real importance in making the decisions in Gaza maybe you should take a world view of the problem now that the USA is clearing its military bases, in Iraq, of non essential staff and Israel is going on high alert for a possible strike on Iran.

Blaming Albo for something he cannot really control is just childish. Short sighted nonsense.

The biggest problem with Australia is that it thinks it is important when really it is a price taker. Not a price setter.

That is one of my points. You have no imagination. Just another aussie trying to gaslight and blame everyone else.

Albo is only doing what he thinks the Australian people want him to do while at the same time dealing with a psychopathic US administration.

The average Australian still believes the USA will protect us from an enemy that does not exist. Albo, or any other leader, must work within this gaslit narrative of average Australian citizen.

Throwing your toys out of the pram because Albo is trying to work within a screwed up system is not real journalism.

The money you lost could be anytime you did not get what you wanted and in turned blamed everyone for you loss instead of analysing the situation at a deeper level. Maybe it was your actions that were the problem and not a politicians.

Your article turned into a whinge fest. That was once the domain of the poms. Australians were once the problem solvrers with a deep understanding and the ability to show empathy. The yobos of Australia have taken that from us.

Fraser and Hawke both stood against South Aftican Apartheid and took real action, even though the US didn't. It makes a difference.

Every time we make excuses,we empower them to go further - so by mumbling mealy mouthed platitudes rather than condemning each atrocity, we have basically encouraged them.

At least the Libs are upfront about their zionism and don't feed us mealy-mouthed, doublespeak bullshit to distract us from their complicity.

This genocide Albanese has continued to enable while he and Penny continue to spruik "Israel's right to defend itself" is merely one amongst his litany of failures and unfulfilled promises. The way in which he shafted Tanya Plibersek and inserted the thug Murray Watt to approve Woodside's North West Shelf expansion is merely the latest.

The Albo we got was nothing like the Albo of old.

At least his focus groups have told him to ditch the public housing bullshit.

Gaza very much informed my voting at this year's federal election, with a descending order of policy that needs attention.

Jesus turned the money lenders out of the temple. Someone needs to turn the lobbyists out of our Parliament.
